Local Photographer donates time, talent toward others.

Mary Buck ,owner of Lightscapes Photographic Artwork, has founded a charity to help families who have been displaced or are in temporary housing.

Mary has been a Professional Photographer in Duluth since 1995. She began “In Your Heart Portraits” in May of 2009 as a way of giving back to the community by sharing her time and talent.

She has teamed up with several non-profit agencies in Gwinnett County including Rainbow Village and Nspire as well as in Atlanta and is providing free family portraits for families who have lost their homes.

She originally came up with the idea when she saw a news segment on national television about a young woman in New York, Dana Camp, who was photographing homeless families for free. She was so inspired by this story, that she wanted to provide a similar service in her area of Atlanta, especially in Gwinnett County.

When people thank Mary for her hard work she replies “This is work? When I see the joy it brings to the families I have as much fun as they do.” “I am truly rewarded by being able to share my god-given talents to those who are less fortunate.”

My Chance to be Photographed

I photographed a family today at the Ted (Turner stadium where the Braves play). I couldn't resist being photographed on the pitcher's mound. Note I have the correct stance for a major league pitcher. I had a great time and felt like a little kid!

Mary Launches Nuovo Amore First Year Infant Program Tutorial for Professional Photographers

Mary Buck, Certified Professional Photographer, has launched a new training program for photographers. Mary has operated a successful infant program since 1999 and is now sharing her knowledge with others who would like to start an infant photography business. The tutorial is priced at $295. She is selling the license for the logo pictured above for an additional $75. The fee is a low introductory rate and will increase to $395 in 2010.

Baby Hadley is 3 months old

Hadley and her mom came in for a 3 month baby plan session and the portraits are adorable. Just see for yourself how much expression she is showing for her young age.
The 3-4 month session is typically the best for the Itsy Bitsy Baby; a 9 image collage of baby's face, hand and feet.

Too Cute for Words

Bella was absolutely precious for her 9 month appointment. Mom and Grandma brought in the cute props and we had a blast for over an hour. She smiled and showed great expressions the entire time. Pictured is the new 8 pose collage.

Newborn Preemies

Madison and Emerson are twin baby girls who were born 3 weeks premature. Aren't they precious? They were angels at the session and slept most of the time. Lightscapes Photography is offering a Bebe line of fine art prints for newborns under age months. An example of the new product line is pictured to the left. It is priced at just $159.

Who Needs Destin?

Lake Lanier provides a gorgeous backdrop for beach portraits in the local area.
My favorite spot is the West Bank of Lake Lanier. I just love the shoreline, the foliage, the golden rocks and the background, all which contribute to a very artful composition. Pictured is Saylor who was photographed the last week of June.

A New Bundle of Joy

Little Hadley arrived just in time for Father's Day. Her Mom, Dad and two big sisters are excited about their new arrival. Hadley will be featured in my new series of "Baby Fantasy Art" which is coming out soon.
